PostSubject: Rebellion Wrestling   Rebellion Wrestling Icon_minitime1Thu Sep 11, 2014 8:45 pm

Last night was the first televised show for Rebellion wrestling and boy, it was a good one, featuring a mega main event as World Champion Kawada teamed with RISE to take on Barbed Wire Champion Misawa teamed with Dragon Teeth.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Shinya Hashimoto

Hashimoto defeats Jarrett with a brainbuster. Does this put him in line for a shot at Misawa's title?

Missionaries of Violence vs. Monstruous de la Laguna

Austin Aries pins Ultimo Guerrero after a brainbuster from the second rope.

Jerry Lawler vs. Ahmed Johson w/ special guest referee Bobby Roode

Even though Lawler and Roode worked much of the match trying to destroy Johnson, Ahmed was able to overcome the two on one attack, hitting Roode with a brainbuster and then Lawler with the Pearl River Plunge. With no ref to count a pin, there was no winner, but Johnson was the one standing tall at the end of the match.

Nigel McGuinness vs. Ken Shamrock

Shamrock forces McGuinness to tap out with the ankle lock. Rebellion CEO Antonio Inoki, came out after the match and announced that Shamrock would face Hashimoto and the winner of the Del Santo/Rhyno match in a triple threat match to determine the #1 contender for Misawa's Barbed Wire title.

AJ Styles vs. The Devil's Rejects

With Styles being named the challenger to Kawada's World Title, Kawada was allowed to choose Styles's match tonight. Of course, Kawada chose a handicap match against two nasty sons of bitches. AJ put up a hell of a fight, but eventually the odds wore him down and The Franchise hit the Franchiser. The Devil's Rejects, with Styles lying motionless in the ring, then cut a promo warning the Uso's not to even show up for the upcoming tag team tournament.

El Hijo Del Santo vs. Rhyno

Del Santo hits the Tope de Cristo and pins Rhyno. The triple threat match for the Barbed Wire Title is set. Hashimoto vs. Shamrock vs. Del Santo

The MAIN EVENT: Kawada and RISE vs. Misawa and Dragon Teeth

The crowd was hot for this champion vs. champion six man tag. What began as a technical match, slowly began to break down into a slug fest and finally into an all out brawl. Kawada and Misawa ended up beating each other up and down the ramp and around the ring, while RISE and Dragon Teeth took it to each other inside the squared circle. Eventually, the tag teams spilled out into the arena and the two champions came inside the ropes. Misawa hit the Emerald Flowsion Kai, but Kawada kicked out. Kawada responded by bludgeoning Misawa's face with a Dangerous Kick for the pin. RISE gained the advantage over Dragon Teeth, leaving both men battered, and then joined Kawada in the ring with steel chairs. As Misawa struggled to his feet, both men hit him in the head with the chairs collapsing him to the mat. As the show went off the air, Kawada and RISE were left with their hands in the air as the crowd rained down boos.

Live from Houston, Texas, it's Rebellion Wrestling.

RISE vs. Dragon Teeth

Dragon Teeth picked up the win as Fujinami hit the Dragon Suplex on Nakamura for the pin.  The crowd went wild after the match as Dragon Teeth pick up some small measure of revenge for last week.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Nigel McGuinness

Going back to what brought him to stardom, Jarrett hit McGuinness with a guitar in this No DQ match to pick up the win.

Bobby Roode vs. Ahmed Johnson

Johnson was hot going into this match as Roode tried to screw him out of a victory last week.  Ahmed handled Roode the entire match, hitting the Pearl River Plunge for the pin as the crowd went crazy

Shinya Hashimoto vs. Ken Shamrock vs. El Hijo Del Santo for #1 Contender to the Barbed Wire Title

What a crazy match.  Shamrock and Hashimoto teamed up early to take it to Del Santo and were beating him around the ring.  Just when things were looking bleak for the masked hero, Nigel McGuinness stormed the ring and tossed Hashimoto to the outside where Nigel locked Shinya in the London Dungeon.  Distracted by the run in, Shamrock lost focus and before he knew what was happening, Del Santo had him in the Camel Clutch, forcing the submission expert to tap out.  Your new #1 Contender for the Barbed Wire Title, EL HIJO DEL SANTO.

Lawler vs. Samoa Joe

Great back and forth match, but in the end, Lawler hits the piledriver on Joe for the pin

Misawa vs. Devon vs. Kejii Mutoh vs. Austin Aries vs. Shane Douglas vs. Kevin Steen

Kawada set this match up in order to punish his enemy Misawa.  While it was ostensibly a six-man battle royal with the winner being allowed to choose his opponent at After Dark, it was really a five on one attack.  Misawa fought valiantly, even managing to throw out Devon, but the odds were overwhelming as The Missionaries of Violence and The Devil's Rejects began picking him apart slowly and calculatingly.  This uneasy alliance didn't last however, as Aries found himself running afoul of Steen.  As Aries and Steen brawled, and The Franchise tried to help his partner, Misawa was able to eliminate Kejii.  Together, Douglas and Steen eliminated Aries, and turned their attention back to Misawa.  Again, Misawa battled hard, but the 2 on one was too much for even the Barbed Wire champion to handle.  He was eliminated and then Shane Douglas hopped out of the ring allowing Kevin Steen to "win" the match.  Steen immediately invited The Franchise back in the ring and they pointed down at Aries and Mutoh who were still down at the side of the ring and announced that at After Dark, The Devil's Rejects would be coming after the tag titles.  Just as Misawa is about to leave the ring, Kawada appears at the top of the ramp and hits him with a Dangerous Kick, knocking the Barbed Wire champ out cold.  The show ends with Kawada holding his title high and pointing and smiling at the Devil's Rejects.  Is this the beginning of a truly unholy alliance?

Shinya Hashimoto vs. Nigel McGuinness

Before the match began, McGuinness was seen talking to Del Santo in the locker room and asking to replace him in the set match. McGuinness wants a piece of Hashimoto and Del Santo was happy to oblige. The match had the crowd on their feet and McGuinness ends up with the win after hitting the Jawbreaker Lariat to get the cover.

El Hiji Del Santo vs Devon

Del Santo replaced McGuinness in this match, but Devon attacked Del Santo before the match even began. Del Santo never really got out of the blocks, and Devon hit Saving Grace to pick up the victory. Afterwards, Misawa came down to the ring to save Del Santo from further attack by Devon. He cleared the ring and helped Del Santo to his feet. The two men shook hands, but both know their friendship will be tested at After Dark when they meet head to head for the Barbed Wire title.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Ken Shamrock

Another No DQ match featuring Jarrett, and while Shamrock was able to lock in the ankle lock Jarrett reached the ropes to break the hold and then escaped the ring. Shamrock followed, but Jarrett grabbed his guitar and hit Ken with the Acoustic Equalizer. Throwing Shamrock into the ring, Jarrett was able to cover the submission specialist.

Samoa Joe vs. Bobby Roode

These two men have a long history outside of Rebellion Wrestling and it showed in this fantastic match. The two went back and forth for fifteen minutes with both men looking like they had the match won at different points. However, Roode would prevail as he hit the Pay Off to defeat Joe.

Dragon Teeth vs. Monstruous De La Laguna

These two teams highlight a great tag division in Rebellion Wrestling. The fans were behind both teams, but one had to win, and Fujinami hit the Dragon Backbreaker on Blue Demon to pick up the victory. After the match, RISE ran down to the ring with The Missionaries of Violence and laid out all four men with chair shots. They then turned their attention to each other, but both teams backed off in anticipation of their match at After Dark.

Ahmed Johnson vs. RISE

In an attempt to eliminate any contender to his title, Kawada set up this handicap match. Johnson had the early advantage, but the numbers overwhelmed him, and Nakamura hit the Landslide to take out Johnson. After the match Kawada came down and he and RISE attacked Johnson further, ending with Kawada knocking out Johnson with a steel pipe. Suddenly, Misawa's music hits and he charged the ring. He cleared out RISE and turned to face Kawada. Their match is next.

Kawada vs. Misawa in a Champions vs. Champions match

This storied rivalry only intensified here tonight. The two wrestled for almost half an hour before Kawada hit a Dangerous Kick and covered Misawa for the three count. Kawada stood in the ring with his belt held high, looking like a man on top of the world, when suddenly, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat's music hit. The Dragon appeared at the top of the ramp and pointed down to Kawada. He announced that he had just been signed to Rebellion Wrestling, and, as part of his contract signing he becomes the number one contender to Kawada's World Title. Kawada looks furious and the fans go out of their mind. That match will take place at After Dark next week.

After Dark comes to you from Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California.

Nigel McGuinness defeats Shinya Hashimoto

A great match to get things started.  Hashimoto looked to have the early advantage and pressed that advantage to great effect.  McGuinness kept fighting back but Hashimoto had an answer for everything.  Just when things looked bleak for Nigel, newly signed Adam Cole ran down to the ring and the Corona Crash on Hashimoto.  The ref had been knocked down a few moments earlier, but came to just as McGuinness covered a prone Hasimoto and counted for the pinfall.

Ahmed Johnson defeats Jerry Lawler

There is no love lost between these two men as they entered their No DQ match.  The included some incredibly violent exchanges between the two fighters and both men were bleeding after the first ten minutes.  Lawler looked to have Ahmed Johnson dead to rights as he hit the piledriver and climbed the ropes to go for a diving fist drop.  Ricky Steamboat came flying down to the ring however and pushed Lawler off the turnbuckle and to the mat.  As Lawler struggled to his feet, Steamboat leapt off the corner and hit the diving crossbody.  Johnson crawled over to Lawler and covered him for the victory.

El Hijo Del Santo defeats Mitsuharu Misawa to become the NEW Barbed Wire champion

Nothing could stop Del Santo tonight as he came out for this match on fire.  Misawa fought valiantly to retain his title, but Del Santo hit Tope de Cristo to become the new champion.

RISE defeats The Missionaries of Violence to become the NEW tag team champions

MOV lived up to their name early in this match, taking turns distracting the referee and using all manner of illegal holds and moves to gain an advantage.  Both Aries and Mutoh both got chair shots in on both members of RISE without the ref looking, but the tide turned when Shinsuke Nakamura hit a Landslide to the outside on Mutoh.  He raced back into the ring to face an Austin Aries who looked ready to win the match, but Nakamura caught Aries in the Shining Triangle forcing him to submit.

Samoa Joe defeats Bobby Roode

Another classic between these two men.  Once again Steamboat made his impact felt by charging down the ring after Bobby Roode hit Joe with some brass knuckles while the ref wasn't looking.  Steamboat again flew from the top rope and hit Roode with the diving crossbody.  The ref was too busy picking up the brass knuckles that had mysteriously appeared in the ring, and Samoa Joe was able to cover a stunned Roode for the win.  With Steamboat making such an impact thus far, is primed to take the title of Kawada?

Kawada defeats Ricky Steamboat to retain the World Championship

The crowd was firmly behind The Dragon during this match, and the two men put on an incredible match reminiscent of the great Flair/Steamboat matches of the past.  Perhaps because of his previous interference, Steamboat did not have enough in the tank as the match approached the half hour mark.  Kawada took advantage, throwing Steamboat outside the ring.  The two men brawled back and forth with Steamboat being sent over the announcer table.  Steamboat climbed to the top of the table and attempted a diving crossbody on Kawada who was slumped against the ring post.  Kawada dodged the attack and Steamboat went body first into the post.  Kawada picked up the injured Steamboat and kicked his head against the steel.  Kawada pointed to the ref and asked him to ask Steamboat.  An unconscious Steamboat couldn't answer the referee, so he had no choice but to call the match.  Next up, we will find out who will challenge Kawada for his belt at the next PPV

10 man battle royal

With only nine men scheduled for this match, there was a buzz around the arena that the tenth man could be Ahmed Johnson or perhaps even Misawa.  The final four were Jeff Jarrett, Devon, and Adam Cole.  The tenth countdown began, and....Michael Elgin made his way to the ring.  The crowd popped huge at this surprise entrant.  Elgin immediately knocked out Devon, and then Cole, Jarrett, and Elgin put on a hell of a show.  Jarrett and Elgin worked together to eliminate Cole, and then Jarrett was able to toss out Elgin to win the match.  Your new number one contender for the World Championship is Jeff Jarrett.

Welcome to Rebellion Wrestling, and After Dark was quite the spectacle. We are now looking ahead to Baptized in Blood. Tonight is bound to be exciting, so on with the show.

Samoa Joe vs. Kawada

Samoa Joe was able to defeat the champion as Ahmed Johnson's appearance at ringside distracted Kawada and allowed Joe to lock in the Coquina Clutch, forcing Kawada to tap out.

Jerry Lawler vs. Ahmed Johnson

Lawler comes out and refuses to accept that Johnson beat him at After Dark. Lawler makes all kinds of excuses, but then challenges Johnson to a match right now. Lawler then adds that if Johnson can beat him, Lawler will never be allowed to challenge Johnson again for a match. Johnson readily accepts and the two go out it. This was the best match I've ever seen the computer put on. Both men hit finishers and kicked out. Johnson put Lawler through the barricade. Kick out. Lawler put Johnson through the table. Kick out. Finally, an exhausted Lawler was able to piledrive Johnson from the ring apron to the floor, knocking Johnson out cold. The fans chanted "Holy shit" over and over again as the show went to a commercial.

Hijo Del Santo vs. Roderick Strong

Del Santo comes out to a huge pop. He thanks the fans for supporting him and he promises to be a great Barbed Wire champion. Del Santo then says he will be a fighting champion, and will defend his title often. In fact, he will defend it tonight. He reveals that he put all Rebellion wrestler's names in a hat and pulled out the man who he will face in his first title defense. It is Roderick Strong. Strong comes down, and the two friends shake hands. Strong puts up a good fight, but Del Santo is able to finish Roderick off with a La de a Caballo, forcing Strong to tap.

Michael Elgin vs. Adam Cole

These were the last two men to be eliminated in the battle royal at After Dark and it looks like a heated rivalry is brewing between the two men. The match quickly becomes a street fight, as the men battle out of the ring and up the ramp. Devon comes out and attacks both men, pushing Elgin off the stage. Cole attacks Devon and looks to be gaining the upper hand until Jeff Jarrett appears with guitar in hand. He smashes the instrument over Cole's head and holds up Devon's hand in victory. Now that Jarrett has set his sights on Kawada's title, is he trying to form a stable to protect him?

Nigel McGuinness vs. Shinya Hashimoto

Another rematch from After Dark, but a match that was made after Hashimoto complained that the only reason Nigel won was because of Cole's interference. McGuinness proves it was no fluke as he locks Hashimoto in the London Dungeon and forces him to tap.

Devon vs. Misawa vs. Ken Shamrock for #1 Contender for the Barbed Wire title

Footage of Jarrett and Devon are seen speaking with Antonio Inoki earlier in the night. Inoki makes his way to the stage and tells the crowd that due to unfortunate circumstances, Misawa won't be able to automatically get a rematch for the Barbed Wire Championship against Del Santo. Instead, Misawa will compete tonight in a triple threat match against Devon and Ken Shamrock for the number one contendership. The crowd boos but the match has been made. Jarrett accompanies Devon and Shamrock to the ring, so it looks as though Jarrett has formed a pact with Shamrock as well. Misawa comes down to the ring and Bo Dallas attacks him from behind. Jarrett cheers him on as Dallas attacks Misawa and then rolls him into the ring. Shamrock and Devon beat Misawa down for a bit, and then Shamrock allows Devon to take the pinfall victory. Jarrett, Shamrock, Devon, and Dallas all join hands in the ring at the end of the match.

Jarrett vs. Steamboat

Steamboat comes out to challenge this new stable, saying although he lost to Kawada, at least he has some decency and honor. An angry Jarrett tells Steamboat to come down and get his ass kicked. Steamboat rushes the ring and the match begins. At first, Steamboat had the upper hand, but Jarrett's cronies distracted and harassed Steamboat enough for Jarrett to hit Ricky with a guitar. Once down, all four men attack Steamboat. Things look bleak, until out of nowhere, Daniel Bryan races down to the ring to save The Dragon. He clears the ring and Jarrett and his boys scatter. The show ends with Bryan helping up an injured Dragon.

Ahmed Johnson defeats Ricky Steamboat

Missionaries of Violence draw Monstruous De La Laguna

Samoa Joe defeats Jerry Lawler

Devon defeats Michael Elgin

Roderick Strong defeats Nigel McGuinness

Adam Cole defeats Misawa

Kawada defeats Shinya Hashimoto

(I had write ups for about half of these done, but then my computer froze and I lost them. So, I'm just giving results this week. The big news is that Steamboat agreed to Bryan's challenge at Halloween Havoc, and Jeff Jarrett's faction continues to wreak havoc across the brand)

Coming to you live from the Grand Ballroom at the Manhattan Center Studios, it's Rebellion Wrestling.

Shinya Hashimoto vs. Nigel McGuinness

These two lock horns once again, with Hashimoto becoming steadily obsessed with beating McGuinness. Inoki makes the match, but tells Hashimoto if he doesn't beat McGuinness tonight, there will be no more matches between the two of them. However, if he does manage to beat McGuinness, Hashimoto will get him in a match at Baptized in Blood, and he can choose the stipulation. Hashimoto is able to secure the victory after hitting the vertical drop brainbuster.

El Hijo Del Santo vs. Jeff Jarrett

This match barely even got started before Devon and Bo Dallas came down to the ring. Del Santo was taking it to Jarrett and even managed to lock in La de a Caballo, but Jarrett's lackeys entered the ring and attacked Del Santo causing a DQ. The three men beat the holy hell out of Del Santo, ending with a brutal guitar shot.

RISE vs. Dragon's Teeth

Both of these teams have been left off the card for a couple of weeks, but this match showed why they belong here every week. This was a 20 minute back and forth blitzkrieg, that ended with Sugiara clapping the ankle lock on Nakamura for the victory. After the match, RISE try to attack their opponents with steel chairs, but Dragon's Teeth holds them off.

Jerry Lawler vs. Roderick Strong

This was essentially supposed to be a squash match that Lawler demanded so that he could get back on a winning streak. However, Lawler underestimated Strong's heart and desire and found himself in one hell of a match. Lawler thought he had the match won after a piledriver, but Strong kicked out. Ahmed Johnson's music hit distracting Lawler, but Johnson did not appear. Strong used the opportunity to set Lawler up for the Sick Kick, and picked up the shocking victory.

The Missionaries of Violence and Kawada vs. Monstruous De Laguna and Ricky Steamboat

What an awesome main event. Though the heels seem to have been taking over recently, Steamboat, Ultimo Dragon, and Blue Demon managed to get the win when Steamboat hit Kawada with the diving cross body. Suddenly, Jarrett's music hits and he and Devon and Dallas charge the ring looking to make it 6 on 3. They begin to attack Steamboat and Monstruous, but all of a sudden Daniel Bryan, Mick Foley, and Jake "The Snake" Roberts appear. They fire into the ring and help Steamboat and Monstruous clear out Kawada, Jarrett's bunch, and MOV. The show ends with the six men celebrating with the crowd.
