| It has been three weeks since the crowning of the Pro Wrestling League's first-ever International and World Heavyweight Champions. In that time, alliances have been forged while others dissolve. Bodies and minds have been broken and careers ended, but new ones have begun. Here, the PWL recognizes its greatest combatants — some who have withstood their foes, and some who have only recently emerged, but all of whom are worthy of the honour of being counted among the league's Top 5.On the bubble: The Heyman GuysTwo weeks ago, Shawn Michaels shocked the PWL Universe when he threw in with CM Punk under the management of Paul Heyman. Now, this unexpected alliance will seek to prove itself in what promises to be an intense tag-team match-up on the next instalment of Impact. 5. The ShieldThe Lunatic Fringe Dean Ambrose, was already among the premier talents of the Pro Wrestling League when the newly-emergent Seth Rollins allied with him to form The Shield. In spite of a hellish defeat for Ambrose at the hands of the newly-minted Wall Street Warrior, Rollins was impressive in his debut, defeating the vile Ugly Fat Fuck. Now, this pair have their sights set on an even tougher target.4. ManicThe Pro Wrestling League's very own freak show established himself as a dangerous force weeks ago when he took Dave Turner out of contention for weeks on end, and then added to that cocktail by befriending the psychotic Wall Street Warrior. A dominant showing over new talent James Phantom has put him firmly in the spotlight, but can Manic prove his worth in singles competition again this week against a decorated opponent?3. Zach RyderIn spite of the protestations of his mentor Gregory Helms, the Woo Woo Kid is showing his quality week in and week out, including a more convincing victory over the former Television Champion CM Punk this Thursday on Impact. Now that Ryder finds himself on the wrong side of the freak show, will he be able to pull out another clutch victory?2. Bray WyattThough he has been quiet since breaking Matthew Wall's spirit and birthing the Wall Street Warrior, Wyatt defended his hard-won title against an equally silent foe on Impact. This week, he will face a monster of his own creation. Will the student overcome the teacher, or can Wyatt maintain his dominance?1. Owen HartThe Mad King was crowned as PWL's first World Heavyweight Champion at Ascendance, and things have been quiet for Hart since he ended Randy Savage's career. But a no-show from Mike Tyson for last week's Impact has left Hart stewing in his own juices, and with the loss of this king's only knight, his grip on the Kingdom could be slipping. | |
